Mark's experience in family medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, orthopedics and sports medicine has provided a comprehensive foundation of medical knowledge. Mark has also practiced gerontology for over 15 years at several local long-term care facilities. The chronic care for these fragile patients has driven Mark to study aging and longevity.  This diverse background allows him to bring a unique perspective to his patients at Patient First DPC, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.

 

Mark's impact extends beyond his professional accomplishments. He cherishes his relationship with his beautiful wife, Julie, whom he met on a blind date as a student at Baylor University. Together, they have raised three remarkable children who are now making their own positive impact in the world. Mark and Julie will not hesitate to tell that they are “dog people.”  Their 4 pups are part of the Roberts’ family pack.

 

Mark's medical career began as a student trainer at Baylor University.  One of the highlights of this experience was carrying the headset cord for renowned Baylor football coach, Grant Teaff, during a memorable football season. Outside of medicine, Mark finds exhilaration in adventurous activities.  Even though he's broken a bone or two, mountain biking and snow skiing are what he calls “passions that are worth the risk.” Mark is drawn to the mountains where rivers need to be fished and trails need to be shredded, but he wouldn't say “no” to a captivating book on the beach. His deep connection to his faith community as an elder at Redeemer Waco also plays a significant role in his life.
